Improving the Standards for Treatment of Musculoskeletal Disorders
As the U.S. population ages, musculoskeletal conditions and injuries will increasingly affect every individual at some point in their lives. Consequently, there is a growing need for state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation techniques in orthopaedics and neurosurgery.
The ONS Foundation For Clinical Research and Education, a Greenwich Hospital alliance, works to develop, validate, formalize and disseminate the latest advances in surgical techniques, rehabilitation protocols and clinical outcomes in orthopaedics and neurosurgery to improve patient care on regional and national levels.
In February 2012, construction began on the ONS Foundation Laboratory. Since completion of the state-of-the-art facility in April, orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons from the US and abroad have worked together on several research projects designed to improve surgical skills and develop new techniques.
