June 13^th was one of the rare beautiful days this spring, and the sun shined cheerfully on the golfers who came to the Stanwich Club on North Street in support of the ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education. The Third Annual Benefit Golf Outing, Linking Knowledge to Motion, was once again co-chaired by the Vicki Leeds Tananbaum and Dr. Michael Clain. The outing is the primary fundraising vehicle for the organization that conducts clinical research aimed at improving orthopedic and neurosurgical techniques and standards for better patient outcomes. 
Funds raised will be used for a research study on surgical techniques for rotator cuff repair. In addition, proceeds will benefit education and community outreach initiatives.

The day began with a beautiful buffet lunch served on the clubhouse porch, after which 24 foursomes took to the superbly manicured Stanwich links. Following the tournament, the group nearly doubled as non-golfing friends and supporters attended the cocktail reception, auction and dinner. The auction was chaired by Sandra Hart. The many donors included Curtain Bluff Resort in Antigua, Betteridge Jewelers, Watsons Caterers, Sea Island Resort, Horseneck Wine and Liquor and others. “This event is not only the Foundation’s major fundraiser but also a time to share the year’s achievements with our friends and supporters,” said Ms. Tananbaum. “What a great day!”
