Evaluation of intra-articular rotator cuff repair with a pushlock anchor

Partial articular rotator cuff tears represent a challenge in the surgical management of symptomatic patients. There is growing evidence from biomechanical data to suggest that repair of these lesions may be beneficial, and repairs without removal of the entire tendon may offer additional biomechanical advantage. Numerous techniques exist for repair of partial articular tears of the supraspinatus tendon, most of which involve some type of trans-tendon repair. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the integrity of the intra-articular rotator cuff repair with a push-lock anchor when compared to traditional partial articular surface tendon avulsion (PASTA) repairs.
